The number of links you can have in the authors block depends upon where you are publishing the article. If you are publishing the article on your own web site, obviously you can have as many links as you want in the author's block, however the more links you have, the more spammy your article will look. When it comes to marketing with articles, quality is the name of the game. If you write quality articles, you reduce the amount of effort you will have to spend in your article marketing strategy.
Most sites will let you include at least 1 link in the author's block (or bio). If you are posting your article to someone else's newsletter, then you will usually only let you have 1 link. Many article directories will allow you to include 2 or 3 links in the author bio box.
To get the most out of your links, point them to related sites or related information. If you point them elsewhere, you will compromise the quality of your article. What would you think if you were reading an article about cat food and the link in the author's resource box took you to a site that specialized in car detailing. Wouldn't you think twice about the author and how much they really knew about cats?
