Question:
A company recently installed a tom tom GPS fleet unit on my company van. How can I keep my privacy? I have 2 Antennas on the inside of my windshield, plus it is wired in the speedometer. (I can see the 2 wires) they are easily accessible.
Answer:
There are 2 things you can do:
a) If you cover the wires but most importantly the antenna with foil would stop the incoming GPS signal.
Metal is NOT a friend of gps signal.
If it's legal in your area, you can use a GPS Scrambler
This will allow you to disappear and no one will know your whereabouts, as long as it is powered.
You may need to wire to a cigarette power adapter that stays on when vehicle is off, so when you park you don't get caught.
